A slow, careful match…

how we adopt

We don't do same-day, sight-unseen adoptions. Every match takes a few touchpoints — that's how we keep returns rare and tails wagging. Here's what to expect from start to settled-in.

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Adopting isn't a transaction — it's a small, slow handoff of trust. We'd rather take an extra week to find the right home than rush a match that comes back to us in two months.

That said, the process is short and human. Five steps, mostly done over a couple of weeks. Nothing on this page is meant to scare you off; it's meant to set expectations so the actual adoption feels unsurprising.

From browse to settle-in…

five steps, no surprises

Browse the roster

Look through every animal we currently have. Heart the ones who feel right — your favorites stay saved on this device. There's no pressure to pick on the first visit.

Send an inquiry

Click into a pet's profile and submit an inquiry with your contact info. We use your phone or email (your choice) to set up the next step within a few days.

Come meet them

Drop in for a meet-and-greet. Sit on the floor, let the pet warm up at their own pace. We'll talk through their history, energy level, and any quirks. Bring people who'll live with them.

Adoption day

Sign a short adoption agreement, settle the fee, and pick up a starter kit (food, leash or carrier, vet records). Most adoptions are finalized the same day as the meet-and-greet, but no one rushes you.

Settle in together

We check in at one week and one month — partly to see how things are going, partly because we miss them. If anything's not clicking, we figure it out together. We don't disappear after the paperwork.

A few questions…

we get a lot

How long does it usually take?
Most adoptions wrap up within two to three weeks of the first inquiry. Some happen faster, some take longer when there's a waitlist for a popular pet.
Do you do home visits?
Not standard, but we'll ask a few questions about your space (apartment vs. house, fenced yard, other pets). For some animals with specific needs we may ask for photos of where they'll live.
What's the adoption fee for?
Spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and the time we've spent caring for them before they came to you. Fees vary by species and age — they're listed on each pet's profile.
What if it doesn't work out?
Bring them back. No judgment, no fee. We'd rather have a returned pet we can rematch than a stuck adopter. It almost never happens — but the door's open.
